Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up. John 3:14
Signs, signs, everywhere a sign like I told you. Now more signs from the heavens. God has used man to highlight another aspect of the message of salvation to the world.

NASA, the National Aeronautic and Space Administration is helping God though they don’t know it. This is going to drive the astrologers crazy.

On September 16, 2016, NASA re-introduced an ancient astrological sign to make the ecliptic axis of the earth more accurate. In other words, around the center of the earth, the sun “passes” through and highlights the stars in the different constellations. Twelve constellations are the ones we are used to that unsaved people use for astrological fortune telling. However, because the earth’s axis no longer points in the same direction as it did 3,000 years ago, NASA has added another constellation that was dropped from the charts by the Babylonians. Therefore, astrological signs as we know them have completely different date ranges now.

What is important for you to know as a Christian is that the Hebrews had a star chart that depicts the story of Christ long before anyone else. It is called the Mazzeroth. Look it up! Each original Zodiac sign has to do with the salvation message, but it has been corrupted my mankind over the years.

NASA has Ophiuchus “re-added” as an astrological constellation. Let me explain some of the pagan interpretations before I get to the real Christian meaning.

In mythology, Ophiuchus is identified with the healer Asclepius, the son of Apollo, who was able to bring the dead back to life. Realizing his power, Hades convinced Zeus to kill Asclepius with a lightning bolt, and he was placed into the stars as a constellation after his death.

The constellation, Ophiuchus, has been known since ancient times, and is better known as Serpentarius, the Serpent Holder. It is included in the list of 48 constellations described by Ptolemy. Ophiuchus is depicted as a man handling a serpent; his body dividing the large snake into two parts, giving way to the symbol used today as an Asclepius – the medical staff. Astrologers have not included Ophiuchus in the wheel of Astrological signs because the sun spends only about nineteen days in this 13th sign of the Mazzaroth. Not that there wasn’t a 13th sign in the Heavens, but as far as astrologers were concerned, the sun traveled from the constellation ‘Scorpius’ and then proceeded directly into the sign of Sagittarius. In reality, this is not the case. The sun, for 19 days, travels through the star constellation ‘Ophiuchus’ before entering Sagittarius from Scorpius. Pagans believe sign of Ophiuchus is patterned after the original ‘Serpent Holder’, Enki, a Sumerian god.

The signs of the Zodiac are basically the path the sun takes annually across the heavens as it would appear to us at the equator. These signs are actually star constellations occupying space in which the sun appears to travels in an earth year. The original twelve signs/constellations: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces are quite familiar to everyone, however, the thirteenth sign and constellation, Ophiuchus, is in fact, not well known. To acknowledge a 13th is chaos to astrologers, who have been giving advice of 12 signs that rule over the 12 houses of the Zodiac. God has a way of upsetting everyone’s world just as he did at the birth of Christ.

The pagans believe the constellation of Ophiuchus is the only sign of the Zodiac which is linked to a real man, Imhotep,(27th century BCE, Egypt). Attributes of Imhotep can also be found curiously enough in Joseph, son of Jacob. Imhotep is credited with many accomplishments including the knowledge and use of medicine. The pagans believe that Imhotep that he brought the art of healing to mankind but we all know that it was Joseph. Snake venom could kill you or heal you depending on how you use it. The symbol of a serpent (or snake), the caduceus, is still widely used today to represent the medical profession, and was used to represent Imhotep. Imhotep was also known as ‘Aesclepius’ to the ancient Greeks.

 

What does this mean for we Christians today?

First, this reinstatement happens just prior to the beginning of the Fall Feasts, especially Rosh HaShanah or the head of the year. God is trying to tell us something big is going to happen this year. To the orthodox Jews this is not a big deal. The ancient Jews, because they use a lunar calendar, had to have a thirteenth month (or sign) added to their calendar or the spring and fall feasts days would be substantially off.

Second, this character as a snake bearer was in the house of Scorpio as a secondary constellation. But, because of the shifting of the earth’s axis, it is now being illuminated by the sun. In other words, in this new year of 5777, (a five for salvation, and three sevens which means perfection and the trinity), Jesus, the Christ is going to be illuminated and revealed to the world like He has never been before. Yes, we are going to see prophecy and more movement from heaven than we have ever seen before.

Third, the “serpent bearer” or more accurately “wrestler” is of course the Lord Jesus the Christ in prophecy. The snake is being subdued and used by the “man.” Not the other way around. God is in charge of the snake. The most famous is the fact that after the fall of man, God told Eve that the seed of woman was going to bruise the head of satan who is that old serpent. (Genesis 3:15)

Fourth, the Lord Jesus Christ, being our High Priest and healer of not only physical sickness, but sin sickness was foretold in Numbers 21 and later confirmed in John 3 by the Lord Himself. In Numbers, the disobedient children of God were bitten by poisonous snakes. Moses was told to fabricate a pole with snakes twisted around it. Those that looked upon the snakes were healed. Those that did not, died. Our Lord Jesus the Christ told Nicodemus that as the snakes were lifted up in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man he lifted up so that He could draw all men unto Him.

Fifth, to me this is more proof of the ministry of Daniel. Daniel was a specially chosen young Hebrew man brought into captivity by the Babylonians. If you remember the stories of how the only Daniel could interpret Nebuchadnezzar’s dreams. All of Nebuchadnezzar’s home grown astrologers couldn’t. Many of us feel, that because of Daniels’ ministry, he taught them the Mazzeroth and the plan of salvation. How else could these “magi” who couldn’t interpret Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, suddenly get smart and understand where the Saviour was supposed to be born. Daniel told them and I think influenced their study of the constellations. For those of you who do not know what the Mazzeroth is, see the next article.

This new zodiac chart for all of you who care. Think about the fact that those who really do rely on this type of chart for their decision-making have to admit they are getting wrong information. All the astrologers as in the days of Daniel the Prophet have to rethink their positions.
